Executive Summary on the State of the District, 2013

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: Blessed be the LORD God who was gracious unto us through the past year. We stand with the Prophet Jeremiah to proclaim indeed that “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness (Lamentation 3:23). We give thanks to the Lord in acknowledgement of all that was accomplished in Hartford District during the year.

Also I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Regional Head, Pastor Peter Amponsah; the District Executive; and the entire District Presbytery and members for your continuous prayers and support for the Hartford District.

GENERAL ASSESSMENT: The year 2013 was filled with retreats, revivals, conventions, seminars, evangelism, prayer vigils, projects, and programs that were geared towards growth and building up the people.

Four Year Vision: By the grace of God, the four basic areas of our four year vision of Church Planting, Building Projects, Growth, and Spirituality & Unity are being achieved, except in the area building projects. However, our seasons of fasting and prayers, teachings, retreats, evangelism, trainings enhanced the overall spirituality and growth of the District. This year we will focus more  on Building Projects as we continue to win souls, plant churches, train leaders, and fan the Pentecost Fire a bumper harvest

The following summary demonstrates the overall performance of the District in terms of membership, evangelistic activities, tithes, and other areas as compared to the previous year:

  • A total of 46 souls were won and/or added to the Church

  • 21 people received the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

  • 10 people received water baptism.

  • 22 retreats/revivals were held on both local and district levels.

  • Opened 1 nursery English assembly at Springfield

  • Undertook home cell education and planted some more home cells.

  • 6 leadership seminars were held in the District.

  • The District exceeded its Tithes target which represents an increase of 13% over the previous year’s target. With the Lord our help, the District is set and ready for a six-figure increase in tithes for 2014.

  • Missionary offerings have an increase of 4.1% over target.

MEMBERSHIP: By the grace of God, our adult membership (19 years and above) stands at 433 while youth (13-18 yrs.) records 102 which makes a total of 535. This represents an increase of 4% over the previous year, while children membership records 203.

LEADERSHIP: During the year review, an elder was called and stationed at New Britain as presiding elder to replace the former presiding elder who relocated to another state. Also 6 deacons and 2 deaconesses were ordained while final interview and ordination are still pending for four proposed elders.

ACTIVITIES: According to reports from the assemblies the members were blessed through local and District activities such as retreats, fasting and prayer meetings, revivals, leadership seminars, conventions, evangelistic picnics, and movements’ activities.

  • Retreats: The total of 22 retreats/revivals were held on both district and local levels including three fasting 14-day prayer activities in the year, School of Ministry for officers, and assemblies reports of miracles and spectacular events the Lord among His people.

Conclusion: Finally, I believe the Lord will take us through once again and looking forward to your usual cooperation and support for His Kingdom. God bless you.
